I have started a new 2025 Patreon account for you.
Well, for Yuri Kissaten, at least. We’ve been releasing new games since 2024, such as Love is in the Airship, Winter Heat, and another secret game coming very soon. But at least for me, it’s definitely putting a financial strain on me so far. That’s why the 2025 Patreon endeavor is vital.
I legitimately need your help.
Game development, even with extremely small budgets, is pretty costly. Eventually, with enough grit, tenacity, and quality, we’ll be able to eke out a living, right? Well, no, not really. The upfront costs, even for the lowest-budget games, are shockingly high. It makes you wonder how so many amazing developers release their work for free! If I’m not careful, there is a fair chance I’ll run out of money and go bankrupt before hitting that magical mark when things start turning a profit. But I’ll do everything in my power to not let that happen.
And, of course, every single dollar you send is insurance against major life upheavals.
The 2025 Patreon for Yuri Kissaten will give monthly updates on our projects, including the famous 5 for ’25 Campaign. But if you pay a little bit, you’ll also get access to a bunch of bonus updates where we get way more candid about the game development process. Behind the scenes in the best way.
I know why you’re here. You love my rambling about various topics. If you pay me money, you get to read even more.

We’ll be getting into the nitty-gritty of game development, specifically focused on the question of, how the heck do you turn this into a full-time career? Well…
For very rough math… Our games will probably sell at an average of $10 a pop, of which we will get about $6 after various fees and taxes. Many of our games will be above $10, but I’m imagining that deep discounts will make the bulk of our revenue. If I’m splitting this with Fruz, that’s about $3 in my pocket per sale. That means, in order to match my current underpaid salary… And to recoup all the upfront costs on any given game…
Hehe, cliffhanger, I’ll save the details here for a juicy bonus post on Patreon. The dirty details that may be a bit too candid for a random blog post.
So, please pay me money for my 2025 Patreon endeavor. Yuri Kissaten needs you. Not exaggerating.
Also, it’s kind of a shame I haven’t been posting much on this blog these days. I’ve been so busy with Yuri Kissaten that sitting down and typing out some silly blog posts about my topics of interest has been getting tougher. With my Bluesky account, I’ve posted a lot of short thoughts about stuff I’m interested in (follow me). To be quite honest, I was planning to make a personal Patreon/Substack/Ko-fi deal for a while, focused solely on my blogging, but I haven’t done enough free blogging, let alone built up a big backlog for paid newsletters. I’d rather focus on Yuri Kissaten for now.
At least this site has a huge backlog of posts already! Here’s some:
